New York Giants tight end Evan Engram, wide receiver Sterling Shepard officially ruled out for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

It’s not looking good on the offensive side of the ball for the New York Giants this week.

On Friday, the team officially ruled out tight end Evan Engram and wide receiver Sterling Shepard for this Sunday’s matchup. Engram is dealing with a mid-foot sprain and will look to return after the team’s Week 11 BYE. As far as Shepard is concerned, the veteran is dealing with a concussion and will miss his fifth consecutive game. It’s unclear when he’ll be able to return to the field.

In addition to the injuries to the two playmakers, the Giants will also be without center Jon Halapio. The veteran hasn’t missed a game this year. As a matter of fact, none of the starting five offensive linemen have missed a game in 2019. Halapio is dealing with a hamstring setback and it’s unclear when he’ll return to the field.

Right tackle Mike Remmers is also in doubt to play. The veteran, who’s in his first year with the Giants, is dealing with an injury to his back.

Cody Latimer and Darius Slayton will, once again, have to step up in Shepard’s place. Same with Rhett Ellison in Engram’s place. However, Ellison is nowhere near the same type of versatile tight end that Engram is. Therefore, the Giants’ offensive gameplan may have to be altered in those regards.

Veteran Spencer Pulley will replace Halapio. If Remmers isn’t good to go, then second-year pro Nick Gates will take his reps.

The Giants will kick off against the New York Jets this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
