New York Jets RB Le’Veon Bell has no structural damage in knee

Le'Veon Bell

New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell appears to have no structural damage in his knee after undergoing an MRI this week.

This week, the New York Jets and their fans had a little bit of a scare in the back of their minds. Running back Le’Veon Bell, who the team acquired this past offseason, required an MRI on his knee. He suffered the injury in the recent loss to the Miami Dolphins, a setback that caused him to miss practice on Wednesday.

However, it doesn’t seem like the apparent injury will affect Bell too much. The Pro Bowl running back doesn’t have any structural damage and is just feeling soreness at the moment.

“He was trying to practice [Wednesday],” head coach Adam Gase said, per Brian Costello of the New York Post. “We were discouraging that. We thought it would not be the right thing for him to do to go out and practice. He was finally like, ‘Yeah, you’re right. I probably should stay inside.’ I think he’s going to be alright. He’s just really sore right now.”

This means that Bell should be good to go for the team’s upcoming matchup with the New York Giants. The two teams, who are both vitally struggling, will kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Since coming over to Gang Green, Bell has had some on-field issues. Through eight games, he’s averaging just 3.3 yards-per-carry with one touchdown. He additionally has caught 40 balls for 242 yards and one score through the air.
