New York Jets All-Pro safety Jamal Adams has reconciled and cleared the air with general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Adam Gase.

Dating back to last week, a great deal of drama had surrounded the New York Jets organization. Much of it stemmed from safety Jamal Adams and his reaction to what occurred around the trade deadline. General manager Joe Douglas fielded calls on Adams, however, decided not to trade him. No, Douglas didn’t “shop” Adams to other teams. He just listened in on offers.

Nonetheless, Adams took offense to the fact that Douglas even fielded calls on him. Adams didn’t speak with Douglas and head coach Adam Gase for some time because of it. But now that over a week has passed, the All-Pro safety has decided to clear the air with his general manager and head coach.

Douglas didn’t go behind Adams’ back to try to ship him off to another team. He was essentially just doing his job. Nothing more, nothing less. Despite the fact that Douglas was just doing his due diligence, making amends with the team’s star player is a smart move to keep the peace.

The Jets reportedly asked for offensive linemen when the Dallas Cowboys called them about Adams. Nothing had come to fruition prior to the 4 p.m. ET deadline on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Adams had four combined tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and one quarterback hit in the team’s most recent loss to the Miami Dolphins. The 1-7 Jets will take on the 2-7 New York Giants this Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. ET. It’ll be an official home game for Gang Green.
